Dried sea moss is used in many traditional cuisines in Shanghai and Zhejiang area. The biscuit is one of my favorite.
Materials:
- Dried sea moss powder (苔条) 15 g
- All purpose flour 200 g
- Butter 115 g
- Sugar 65 g
- Egg 1
- Baking soda 1.3 g
- White sesame
Recipe:
- Let the butter melt in room temperature, combine with sugar, baking soda, and egg yolk.
- Add sifted flour and shape into a bulk.
- Use a rolling pin to flatten out the mixture (about 0.3 cm thick).
- Cut into square tiles and place on a baking sheet.
- Brush some egg white on the top, and top with some extra sea moss powder and white sesame. Press tenderly using fingers.
- Bake 350 F for 15 minutes, and 300 F for another 10 minutes - Done!
